What is happening during the first year of a PhD, Alex De Nardi?

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS): it is a rare, terminal neurodegenerative disorder that results in the progressive loss of both upper and lower motor neurons that normally control voluntary muscle contraction. So what about early detection? The PhD of Alex De Nardi consists in integrating the prognostic value of #neurofilament with other disease-specific #biomarkers, defining relevant biological processes for a future modelling approach.

Alex has started at COSBI with a few months of internship in the autumn of last year and officially initiated his #PhD in November 2023. It is with pleasure and appreciation that we present his progress.
