The collaboration with Biogen leads to a new publication with first results on the model of neurofilament transport
The journal CPT Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology published our paper titled An age-dependent mathematical model of neurofilament trafficking in healthy conditions. In this paper we present the first results of a very fruitful collaboration between COSBI and Biogen aimed at developing a mathematical model of neurofilament transport. Neurofilaments are the major structural components of neurons; their role as potential biomarkers of neurodegeneration has been investigated in past years with promising results. The model is a valuable starting point for developing a quantitative system pharmacology model to investigate neurofilaments as biomarkers of disease progression and treatment response in different neurodegenerative disorders.
